Eclipsing the American Record
In Partnership with Olympic & World Champion Justin Gatlin, Pro Form Sports created a 4 x 100m relay to run at the University of Tennessee in March 2018
Justin Gatlin handpicked 3 sprinters that would make up Pro Form Sports Elite Relay Team, a concept originating from Pro Form Sports to bring focus to the highest levels of track and field. The Pro Form Sports Elite Relay Team was organized to pursue the opportunity of eclipsing the 4 x 100m American Record:
- Christian Coleman, Silver Medalist, World Outdoor Championships and 60m World Indoor Record Holder
- Ronnie Baker, Silver Medalist, World Indoor Championships
- Mike Rodgers, 4 x 100m Gold Medalist
Unfortunately, due to substantial headwinds exceeding 4 mph on the day of the race, the world record was not broken; however, the foursome did establish a 2018 World Leading time of 38.03, an impressive result considering they had never run together before and only practiced together for 45 minutes the day before the race.
The foursome are eager to run as the Pro Form Sports Elite Relay Team again. They had fun and appreciated the opportunity Pro Form Sports provided them. Pro Form Sports has several events planned for 2019 and beyond.
